Daniil Medvedev has once again done the unexpected. While the tennis realm was busy anticipating and making assumptions about a plausible Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz US Open final, Medvedev was pulling up his socks for a surprise. This became evident to the fans during his semi-final face-off against Alcaraz. The Spanish fans did not like it and did their best to demoralize him. This is not the first time Medvedev has gone through something like this, but it still irks the player.
Nonetheless, this time he did not let that break his momentum. Despite numerous setbacks, Medvedev ended the match neat and clean in his favor. Later on, however, he did issue Spanish fans a warning.

Undoubtedly, Carlos Alcaraz was Spanish fans’ sole hope to bring the US Open title home. However, what they did not expect was the fact that the Russian tennis star would take him down. So, they did what they could in their power to distract him from the match.
During the final set, while he was serving for the match at 5-3, a bunch of Spaniards started hooting and shouting distracting him. This did work momentarily, however, Medvedev would not sacrifice all of it because of them.
So, during his post-match conference, he stated, “It’s just that, as I say, for whatever reason the last game of the match, probably thousand Spanish guys started yelling and shouting between first and second serve.” Expressing his discontent, he added, “That’s not nice, but what can you do?”
However, Medvedev had a resolution after his retirement because of such incidents. He stated, “I can tell you if after my career I’m somewhere at a tennis match and someone does it, I’m going to be like, It’s him.”
Daniil Medvedev says he will try to get people kicked out for yelling between 1st & 2nd serves when his career is over:

He added with a laugh, “This guy, these guys should be out of the tournament. I’m not even going to watch the match. I’m going to be like, It’s him who did it. Kick him out.”
The sanctity of the sport is more important for Medvedev more than anything else. That is why Medvedev did not excuse these Spanish fans after his match too.

Medvedev asks Spanish fans to rest
During his on-court interview after his victory, Medvedev expressed his discontent towards Spanish fans. At first, he started off with an amiable note to both sides of the fans. However, he also pointed out that Spanish fans did distract him during his final serve.
But he did leave them with a cold remark as he advised them to go to sleep. While the Spanish fans recuperate from the loss, Medvedev is going to gear up for the US Open finals against Djokovic.
