However, testing positive for COVID-19, he was forced to pull out of the tournament. He confined himself to complete isolation following the test results. As the protocol goes, he had to undergo another test on Friday. While the fans were hoping for some good news Nishikori took it upon himself to let them down gently as he tested positive yet again.
