Last year after the Indian Wells Masters, one of the most loved players on tour, Kei Nishikori suffered an unfortunate injury. The injury forced the current world number 46 to stay away from the tour for the remaining season.
Fans around the world anticipated his return early this year. However, a couple of days ago, the Japanese player gave a disappointing update. He informed that he will have to undergo arthroscopic hip surgery and thus, will be out for about 6 more months. Today, Nishikori took to Twitter to update fans about the successful surgery.

The player posted a video of himself walking in the hospital corridor with a set of crutches.
Nishikori is on the road to recovery!
Earlier, Nishikori had given an update about his pending surgery. The player had said, “After trying several different rehab options I have decided (together with my medical team) to have arthroscopic hip surgery this week. I will work as hard as I can and the goal is to be back in about 6 months.”
Today, posted a video in which he’s walking with a set of crutches. He captioned the video, “Surgery went good. Rehab is starting.”

After a successful surgery, Nishikori looks positive about heading towards recovery. As per his earlier update, Kei is expected to be back on the court in around 6 months.

Kei Nishikori and his saga with injuries
The Japanese player is undoubtedly a loved player on the tour. His good court coverage and balanced gameplay make him a player to look out for in any encounter. However, the former World No. 4 has had a torrid time with injuries and remains one of the ‘what-could-have-been’ players on the Tour.

In 2019, Kei Nishikori underwent surgery on his right elbow after getting injured in the US Open. He came back on tour in 2020. However, it was short-lived happiness as the Japanese injured his right shoulder at the Roland Garros. The injury forced him to stay away for the remainder of the season.
Coming back to the tour in 2021, he played a number of tournaments. However, a back injury troubled him last year as well. Fans around the world pray for his speedy recovery and hope to see the Japanese star back on tour soon.
