The 29-year-old is in his home country, where he’s playing the Brisbane International. He opened his campaign against his compatriot, Aleksander Vukic. Jordan Thompson prevailed in that match in straight sets. Subsequently, he received a walkover after his second-round opponent, Ugo Humbert, withdrew from the tournament.

Jordan Thompson next faces Rafael Nadal tomorrow in the evening session. It will be an uphill task for him, given the form Nadal is in. But Thompson has nothing to lose and will aim to give his best in front of his home crowd.
