The match between Carlos Alcaraz and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the French Open had almost everything in it. From madness to complete action to players refusing to give up on every single point. But during an action-packed match where everything is on the line, what if there’s something that constantly keeps on buzzing? Yes, for fans watching these two stars in action, it was John McEnroe and his commentary.

This is not the first time that John McEnroe has found herself under scrutiny. During Novak Djokovic’s encounter with Pierre Hugues Herbert, there were multiple occasions when the American icon called him Herbert. This was something that was clearly not liked by fans across and they went ahead to slam the former world number 1 player for overlooking the right pronunciation. But when the same thing was done by Coco Gauff’s coach, it was received differently.

Brad Gilbert took to X and wrote, “you have heard me say this so many times, catching your on ball toss on serv is should not be allowed, how can u catch 3 tosses in arow and not at least get time violation is beyond ridiculous, also allowing 45 catches in a match and nothing in rules is mind boggling and such disadvantage to returner.” But, McEnroe’s comment attracted a lot of negative views.

Taking to Twitter, one fan, who was certainly not enjoying the American’s commentary asked if he ever stops talking? “Does J.McEnroe never stop talking,” said the fan who was clearly not having a great time watching the match.

Another fan joined him as he also wished the same and asked the former world number 1 player if he could stop talking for a while so that they could enjoy the match. “McEnroe: shut up,” said the fan who was not having a great time either.

This fan also joined the others and asked him to not talk much and to enjoy the sound of the game. “PLEASE! Someone tell John McEnroe to shut the f… up and let’s enjoy the tennis not his voice,” said the fan who was clearly not happy.

The taunts just did not stop there. This fan also had the same issue and suggested that John McEnroe talks a lot during the matches. “My goodness John McEnroe talks a lot,” said the fan who was not able to enjoy the action-packed madness between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Carlos Alcaraz.
