Tennis great John McEnroe has put out a rather grim career prediction for Roger Federer. Speaking on a podcast on BBC Radio 5, the seven-time Grand Slam champion said he doesn’t see Federer winning another Grand Slam in what is left of his career.
Coming into All England this year in the quest of a record-extending ninth title, the 39-year-old Swiss crashed out in the quarterfinals after losing to Pole Hubert Hurkacz.

Roger Federer couldn’t say if he’ll be back at Wimbledon
The defeat has raised fresh question marks around Federer’s future in the sport.
Speaking to reporters after the crushing loss, the eight-time champion couldn’t say if he would return to Wimbledon next year.
“I am going to say Roger Federer’s never going to win another one,” McEnroe said.
However, McEnroe presented a lot more sunnier outlook for Novak Djokovic saying he could win four to five more titles and set his own mark in the race for Grand Slams if he can hold his fitness and form.
With the Australian Open and Roland-Garros titles already in the bag and a 20th title beckoning in the Wimbledon finals on Sunday, the Serbian is in sight of a ‘Golden Slam’ — winning all four Grand Slams and the Olympic singles gold in the same calendar year.

Novak Djokovic is poised to equal Federer and Rafael Nadal’s Grand Slam haul at Wimbledon
Should he get there, Djokovic will become the second tennis star after Steffi Graf in 1988 to win the ‘Golden Slam’.
McEnroe gave Rafael Nadal one more Grand Slam title before the Spaniard goes into retirement.

“I think Rafael Nadal wins one more and Novak Djokovic is going to win four or five more, that’s my prediction. Obviously it depends on health and fitness but that’s my prediction,” the American said.

On current form and fitness, the Serbian has more than a decent shout at hauling in more Grand Slam titles and finish comfortably ahead of the Big 2 in the eventual tally.
