Coco Gauff’s hunt for a doubles partner for Roland Garros has finally ended! With Jessica Pegula sidelined due to her persistent injuries, Gauff has been exploring new partnerships on the doubles court. And her latest collaboration is with none other than the former World No. 1 in doubles, Katerina Siniakova!

According to the latest chart released by the Roland Garros tournament, Coco Gauff, the current World No. 1 in doubles, is set up against the Czech tennis pro, Siniakova. Both will begin their doubles journey at the French Open on May 29th, with Xu Yifan and Anna Danillina as their opponents. Much like Coco Gauff, Siniakova is no stranger to success in doubles either.

Before partnering with Gauff, the 28-year-old player had notable success in Berlin 2022, where she won the title along with her partner Storm Hunter. Their chemistry was visible during the Adelaide 2023 final match, too. But now it is time to bring the same magic on-court with the American player.

Coco Gauff, the current World No. 1 in doubles, has had a troublesome journey when it comes to doubles matches this year. It all started when Jessica Pegula, due to her injuries, had to withdraw from the Madrid Open. Naturally, Coco Gauff had to find a new partner. However, the 20-year-old player found success in Madrid, partnering for the first time with Taylor Townsend

Together, they reached the quarterfinal, but it did not end there. Pegula soon withdrew from the Italian Open as well. As a result, Gauff had to opt for another doubles partner in Rome. Interestingly, this time her partner was Erin Routliffe. And with the former World No. 3 in doubles, Coco Gauff’s achievement was astounding.

It was only a few days ago when we saw the New Zealander and Gauff reach the doubles final of the Italian Open. However, as Pegula withdrew from the Roland Garros as well, Gauff will now hit the racquets with Siniakova. Naturally, fans are eager to see her new partnership with the seven-time grand slam champion. But when it comes to her dream mixed doubles partner among the ATP players, Gauff has an exciting wish!

Coco Gauff wants to play mixed doubles with Rafael Nadal!

According to Coco Gauff, her focus right now is playing her best in the singles matches. Even when Ben Shelton requested a mixed-doubles partnership with the American player, Gauff remained firm in her decision. She further said that she is not playing in mixed doubles anytime soon. But if she had to play, Gauff wants to pair with the King of Clay.

“It will happen one day. Just not too soon. Probably, Rafa then,” Gauff added. But when it comes to Shelton, she further added, “I mean for fun, I would just say, Ben Shelton, but he is not a dream.”

However, as of now, the world is waiting to see her current partnership with Katerina Sinikova. And hopefully, together they will reach new heights in the upcoming French tournament.
