After clinching the ATP Finals trophy and leading Italy to its third Davis Cup title last month, Jannik Sinner is finally done with the season. The World No.1 is currently enjoying his time away from the court. While the two-time Grand Slam winner usually likes to keep his activities private, the latest update on his whereabouts has already gone viral. Take a guess. He’s exactly where the WTA World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka is!

Just hours ago, Aryna shared a fun clip from Abu Dhabi. She’s there to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The three-time Grand Slam champion was seen dancing in a racer’s outfit, promoting the BWT Alpine Formula One Team. However, Sabalenka’s not the only tennis star to make her way to the gulf for the last race of the season. Jannik Sinner has also gone to Abu Dhabi! The news was made official with a post on X by F1’s account. Hey Jannik! World No. 1 ranked tennis star @janniksin joins us for the season finale in Abu Dhabi!”

For the unversed, Sinner is a hardcore motorsport fan. He took his passion to the next level last year by joining the F1 brand. “As a Friend of F1, Sinner will attend certain Grands Prix, where he will support F1 in the promotion of the sport through fan engagement. In recent years, both Formula 1 and tennis have attracted a younger and more diverse audience, and Sinner’s support of F1 will encourage a closer crossover between the two sports’ fan bases,” read the description from F1’s official website last December.

Expressing his excitement about partnering with F1, Sinner said, “Being Italian, F1 is in my blood, so I couldn’t be more excited to be working with not only the best brand in motorsports but the best sports platform in the world. I am honored to be given this opportunity and truly thrilled to be a Friend of F1.” But what’s so special about racing in general that drives Sinner?

When Jannik Sinner revealed the reason behind his love for F1

At the time of his collaboration with F1, Sinner expressed his thoughts and revealed what attracted him to racing. “One of the main reasons why I love F1, whether that’s watching, karting with my friends, or racing in a simulator, is because I feel there’s a lot of synergies between tennis and racing. I feel that in both sports it’s all about the 1% and it’s the small details that make a huge difference,” he said in an interview last year.

Is Jannik Sinner's F1 collaboration a distraction or a smart move for his tennis career?

Sinner’s craze for F1 comes from the fact that there are many teams involved in the races that work on building up and improving a car and then the talented drivers try to enhance their performance on tracks in order to defeat their opponents by margins of mere seconds. “It’s fascinating how they compete and perform under the most extreme pressure at the highest level week in and week out,” the Italian added.

Moreover, Sinner described this collaboration as a “huge privilege” for him. “I want to help showcase the amazing things that [the] sport of racing has to offer and Formula 1 is the perfect partner to do so,” he further remarked.

While Jannik Sinner is enjoying his off-season right now, it will be interesting to see if he can carry his winning momentum to the next season. The Italian will like to start by defending his Australian Open title in January. Do you think he will be able to pull it off?
