Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will exchange blows in a ring on July 20th in Arlington, Texas. Iron Mike fought his last professional bout in 2005 but would continue fighting in exhibitions. His most recent fight was in 2020, in an exhibition clash against Roy Jones Jr. Four years later, Tyson will fight Paul, and Jimmy Connors believes that he is not someone who should be trifled with.
Paul and Tyson announced their fight on March 7th. Netflix partnered with Most Valuable Promotions to host the event, and Netflix will stream the fight exclusively around the globe. Several personalities around the world shared their thoughts about the clash, including the tennis legend Jimmy Connors. He talked about it on his ‘Advantage Connors’ podcast and said he would not want to mess with Tyson no matter what his age.
“He’s in his late 50s, 57 years old. I don’t know with all due respect, I still don’t want to f**k with him. Right. I mean, his attitude and, you know what, what he brings to it his mental from his upbringing and what it meant to him and how important it was in his training that he had and all that you know.“

Tyson has endured many difficult periods in his life, including being imprisoned, losing his daughter, and growing up in a difficult environment. While long out of his prime, Connors would say he would still never want to be near Tyson in a ring.

“Last place I would ever want to be” – Jimmy Connors on Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul
While he believed age to mean a lot, he would not want to clash with Tyson at any point. “I know age enters into everything, but when we you have that kind of drive, he may think of one thing when he’s, you know, when he’s in the ring and he’s sparring and he’s training and everything. But once that bell goes ‘ding ding,’ Oh, my God, I that’s the last place I would ever want to be.”
The purpose of the bout will be to entertain fans of sports in general. Paul has shown some impressive moves in the ring and has achieved great results over the years. However, Tyson is another ballgame altogether.

The Kid Dynamite will likely be the winner of the clash, as almost all outlets have him listed as their champion. The chance of Paul beating Tyson is minute, almost nonexistent; regardless, it will be about worth watching.
