Arguably one of the greatest players of all time, Rafael Nadal had a phenomenal start to the 2022 season. After winning his 21st Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, the Spaniard has his eyes set on another title at Acapulco. Notably, Rafa played his first match on 23rd February at Acapulco, after the Australian Open. With a strong start, he cruised to the semi-final where he will now play against Daniil Medvedev.

After becoming the new World no.1, Daniil Medvedev will try to celebrate this achievement with a win over Nadal. However, Nadal may spoil Medvedev’s party, as he is looking for his 4th Mexican Open title.

Incidentally, Medvedev has never won this trophy before, and hence, he would like to change that stat. But in order to do so, he must see past the 21-time Grand Slam champion.

However, that may be difficult for Daniil, as Rafa has a greater head-to-head record (4-1) against the Russian tennis player. Recently, the Spaniard beat Medvedev at the Australian Open final, in a really tough match. Not to mention, Rafa also beat Medvedev in the US Open final in 2019.
