Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios needs no introduction when it comes to turning an ordinary match into a one that’s filled with drama. The latest to join to this list was his third-round match at the on-going Wimbledon Championships against Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Right before the start of the match, expectations were riding high on this contest as it has got two of the game’s best entertainers. While Tsitsipas appeared to be a clear favorite on-paper, Kyrgios’ recent form indicated that it wouldn’t be an ordinary match-up for the Greek player.

Stefanos Tsitsipas criticizes Nick Kyrgios for his bullish behavior at Wimbledon Championships 2022
Staying true to the expectations, Kyrgios-Tsitsipas delivered one of the best matches at this year’s Wimbledon. After an enthralling encounter that lasted for more than three hours, the Australian star prevailed in four sets, 6-7, 6-4,6-3,7-6 and survives to see another day at SW19.

While the match lived up to the hype with respect to tennis, there was unnecessary drama that unfolded right from the start and this didn’t sit right with Tsitsipas.
During the post-match press conference, the Greek player criticized Kyrgios’ nature and called him a ‘bully’.
“It’s constant bullying. He bullies his opponents. He was probably a bully in school, too… I don’t like bullies. He has a very evil side to him.”

As Tsitsipas made his intentions clear towards his opponent, he also expressed satisfaction over his performance today.
Stefanos Tsitsipas: "I enjoyed my tennis today. A bit disappointed with some of the things that went down, especially when they are repetitive over and over again. It starts to get really difficult to ignore. Like a circus."#Wimbledon

Earlier in the match, fans witnessed disappointing behavior from Tsitsipas as he hit the ball out of the court in frustration. Immediately, Kyrgios pointed out the fact that the Greek player should be defaulted and even made a reference about Djokovic’s unfortunate US Open incident in 2020.
Tsitsipas also apologized for hitting the ball out of the court
Talking about the same, Stefanos revealed how the whole incident happened without his knowledge as he lost control amidst the drama that was going on.
“It was really bad from my side. I’ve never done that before. I did apologise. I don’t know what went through my head. With all the circus show going on on the other side of the net, it started to become very tiring.”

Despite the disappointing result, Stefanos Tsitsipas can be proud of the way he’s fought throughout the match. Nick Kyrgios, on the other hand, is on a different level altogether with his game and it won’t be a surprise to see him go deep at the Wimbledon Championships this year.
