This match was all the more special for Berrettini, because last year, he was forced to retire ahead of his fourth-round match at Melbourne Park. In the post-match interview, he spoke about wanting to play last year, having a tough year, and about the upcoming Netflix documentary. He also said that he thought it was a “cool” format.
Berrettini thinks Netflix Documentary will be cool
Netflix recently announced that they are partnering with the four Grand Slams, the ATP Tour, the WTA Tour, and ATP Media. The reason for this is to create a documentary about the lives of the players in the circuit and on the two tours at the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. This ‘historic collaboration’ will bring forth behind-the-scenes footage.
The rumor is that several top tennis stars were roped in for the project already; Matteo Berrettini was among them. When asked about it, after his fourth-round match, he said, “Netflix doc it’s a cool format. I think is a cool thing, something was never showed so far in tennis behind the scenes. They are respectful, of course they want to know what’s going on. I think there are a lot of plus for it.”

“It was a really tough match and the emotions were all over the place for me and him,” Berrettini recalled. “I remember that match with a smile, but it will be a different match this time. For sure it will be a fight,” he added.
