The Americans are flying in Europe and this time it’s Tommy Paul’s turn to shine. Coming into the Italian Open, the 14th-seeded player came from one of the toughest opponents to deal on the clay, Daniil Medvedev. However, after a series of constant defeats, the American star finally found a way and defeated the world number 4 player. While this win would have meant him a lot, he certainly took a moment to celebrate it with a jibe.

The match ended with the final scoreline of 6-1, 6-4. Celebrating the win, he took to the post-match conference and made sure that his feelings were clear to his fans. In the post-match conference, the American star said that the Russian star was pretty good in their previous head-to-head encounters and even managed to hand him a defeat this year at the Indian Wells as well.

So, bagging a win against him would certainly mean a lot to him. “He beat the brakes off me last year and got me at Indian Wells. So this one was good,” said Tommy Paul in the post-match conference after bagging a win.
