Carlos Alcaraz recently attained a massive boost in confidence at Roland Garros. Maintaining the Spanish legacy of ruling the clay courts, the 21-year-old not only secured a win but also became the new favorite of the fans in Paris. While he’s totally committed to reappearing at Roland Garros alongside Rafael Nadal, the young champ presented a lack of affirmation to the legend’s request.

The tennis world is eagerly anticipating the grass-court season. However, the ones carrying dreams to attain glory at the Paris Olympics will have to struggle with scheduling. While Rafael Nadal recently urged his partner to take part in a doubles competition alongside him to test their levels before the glorious event, he appeared to be dicey in getting his schedule heavy.

In a recent interview, the French Open champion mentioned that it would be hard for him to process Rafa’s request easily. “Rafa and I talked about the importance of playing a doubles tournament together but it will be difficult,” he said, considering that he has a busy schedule with the major event in Wimbledon set to begin soon.

Being firm on his decision to perform better at the Olympics, the 21-year-old assured, “On the other hand, we can train together before the Olympic Games.” This decision came just hours after Rafael Nadal announced his participation in the upcoming ATP 250 event in Bastad. Because of a firm determination to end his journey with an Olympic medal, the Spaniard pulled out from the grass-court major in order to keep his focus limited to clay.

While Carlos Alcaraz has no such plans of missing out on Wimbledon or any other grass court events, his thought of seeing a difficulty in adding another tournament seems to be justified.
