20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer last played at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Even though he reached the quarters of the Grand Slam, Hubert Hurkacz thrashed him in straight sets there. Surprisingly, he became the second player to bagel Federer after Rafael Nadal.
Roger Federer recently turned 40. Although fans didn’t get to watch him play at the Laver Cup this year, they expect him to make an incredible comeback on the court soon.

Roger Federer is not playing at the Indian Wells Masters 2021
Unfortunately, Federer is not a part of the players who will be featuring at the Indian Wells Masters 2021. Along with him, his arch-rival and 20-time Grand Slam winner, Rafael Nadal, will also miss the ATP 1000 Masters event.
Federer decided to end his 2021 season soon after his withdrawal from the US Open 2021. He is about to undergo yet another knee surgery and thus, will not be playing at the Indian Wells Masters 2021. Surprisingly, he will not be participating in any more matches this season.

Federer’s record at the Indian Wells Masters
Federer has won 28 Masters tournaments in his career so far. Interestingly, he won five of them in Indian Wells, California, United States. He is currently tied for the most Indian Wells Masters titles along with Novak Djokovic, who has also won the Masters event five times.

Federer won his maiden title in Indian Wells in 2004 after thrashing Tim Henman in straight sets. He went on to defend his title in 2005 and then again, in the next year. Thus, he accomplished a hat-trick of Indian Wells Masters titles.

The Swiss Maestro finished as the runner-up of the BNP Paribas Open 2019, after losing to Dominic Thiem in the finals. Astonishingly, he has ended as the runner-up of the tournament five times in his career, losing to Djokovic on two consecutive occasions.
