The 64-year-old tennis legend in a recent conversation with the Toronto Star shared his views regarding the future of tennis. And while he has picked his tennis star who he thinks is getting ready to rule the tennis world. He said that the Big 3 are the biggest obstacle in the young tennis players’ way to picking up trophies.
He said, “Felix is a great kid, he’s very professional and he’s put himself in a position after being out there four or five years on the circuit, and he’s got to a point where he really believes he can do it. But of course there are these obstacles — Djokovic, Nadal, Roger until last year. How many more is Djokovic going to win? Is Rafa going to win another French? Those guys are 36 and 35. Back in my day, if we made it past 30 we were happy.”
Further, he also highlighted the fact that going past 30 was a huge deal when McEnroe was an active part of the professional circuit. But seeing the big 3 still going strong and winning continuous Grand Slam titles is something that triggers him the most.
However, going by the Spaniard’s journey at the Australian Open, the biggest question is whether he will play in the 2023 French Open or not?
Meanwhile, the Serbian tennis player won his 22nd Grand Slam title. The former tennis player made a prediction regarding how many major titles the 35-year-old tennis star can win after his amazing Australian Open victory.
