The Indian Wells tennis tournament, also known as the BNP Paribas Open, is one of the most prestigious events in the tennis calendar. Held annually in March, it attracts top players from around the world and is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and impeccable organization. Despite the huge scale of the tournament, recently when it rained during one of the matches, what came to light was astonishing.

Indian Wells is located in the Coachella Valley in California, a region known for its dry desert climate. The tournament is usually held under sunny skies and ideal playing conditions. However, weather can be unpredictable, and on this particular occasion, rain played spoilsport. And to everyone’s surprise, Indian Wells tournament authorities had no equipment to mend the situation.

One of the tennis pages on Twitter even posted about it. The post said, “Indian Wells, seriously, you’re not going to tell me you can’t afford to invest in this machine. In 10 minutes, the matter is set to dry the court.”

The fans also emphasized how the machine can make it so easy for the tournament to continue and takes very little time to squeeze the court of the water.

The rain today affected the match between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. While this was very frustrating for the fans themselves, they could not hold their words back as they came ahead and brutally slammed the Indian Wells organizers. Interestingly, the former head coach of Roger Federer, Ivan Ljubicic was also one among those to have hit out at the ATP.
