Similarly, Lajovic has had an inconsistent start to the 2024 season. While he lost in the first round at the Australian Open, Lajovic had back-to-back quarterfinal appearances at the Argentina Open and Rio Open. In the opening-round contest at Indian Wells, Lajovic got the better of Emil Ruusuvuori in straight sets. With a positive start here, the Serb will be riding high on confidence when he takes on Tiafoe.
