After a first-round exit at the Rio Open, Carlos Alcaraz is coming to this outdoor hard-court event as the number-two-seeded participant. In the initial rounds, the Spanish tennis sensation brushed aside the likes of Matteo Arnaldi, Felix Auger Aliassime, and Fábián Marozsán to reach the quarterfinals. Alcaraz then breezed past the sixth-seeded German Alexander Zverev before he recently defeated Jannik Sinner in a three-set thriller, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Prediction: Alcaraz to defend his title at the BNP Paribas Open

The Spaniard is well aware of the hard court surface at this tournament, as he won the ATP Masters 1000 title in the 2023 season. While defeating some of the top-ranked players like Sinner and Zverev, Alcaraz has only dropped two sets in this entire BNP Paribas Open, while he also pulled off a bagel. Given his recent stellar form on the outdoor hard courts and his number two seeding, the 2-time singles Grand Slam champion is the favorite to win this match.
