When it comes to intense drama on the court, Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas have quite a history together. Almost six seasons ago, the ATP players exchanged words at the net after the Russian clinched the match point at the Miami Open. While many in the tennis community thought Medvedev and Tsitsipas were still holding grudges against each other, their recent on-court appearance proved them wrong.

The latest edition of the Indian Wells Open is almost underway, with Medvedev and Tsitsipas marking their participation as top-seeded players. Ahead of their respective round of 64 matches, the big ATP guns recently stunned everyone by pulling off an unexpected move at ‘Tennis Paradise.’

Amidst a lot of controversies surrounding their relationship owing to their past feuds, Medvedev and Tsitsipas were recently sighted practicing together at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Some fans recently brought to light some glimpses of their outdoor hard court practice session on Twitter. One user tweeted, “Medvedev and Tsitsipas are currently practicing together at Indian Wells right now👀,” while another fan also shared a picture.

Even the official Twitter page of the BNP Paribas Open shared a picture of the ATP superstars shaking hands on the court in their unexpected practice session. They also added the caption, “Expect the unexpected @DaniilMedwed|@steftsitsipas #TennisParadise.”

Given their recent on-court appearance, it looks like Tsitsipas and Medvedev have decided to put past differences to bed, as things got heated during their encounter at the Miami Open. Here’s what transpired between the ATP players, as it also sparked their rivalry on the tour.

Back in 2018, both ATP players were ranked outside the top 50 rankings as they faced each other in their first meeting at the Miami Open. Things started to become quite contentious when both Tsitsipas and Medvedev took lengthy toilet breaks. Further, the Russian player was irked when his Greek opponent didn’t apologize after clinching a point when the ball hit the net cord.

After Medvedev came out on top in this match with a score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, both players exchanged foul words on the court, with the Russian heard saying, “Man, you better shut your f*** up, okay?”  

He added, “Hey Stefanos, you want to look at me and talk?

While explaining the reason behind his outburst, he said, “He said ‘Bullsh*t Russian’. You think that is normal?”

Medvedev also labeled Tsitsipas as a “small kid” who doesn’t know how to fight on the court.
