When the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, announced his retirement from tennis at the Laver Cup, a lot of hearts were broken, as they would probably never get to watch the 20-time Grand Slam champion on the tennis circuit. However, recently, Federer surprised his fans by trying his hands at another racket sport, Padel.
Padel, though it may seem a bit similar to tennis, the sport is played in doubles, with a Mexican racket on an enclosed court that is slightly smaller than the tennis doubles court.

Tennis and especially Federer fans, in particular, were bound to get excited after seeing the Swiss Maestro on a court, with a racket in his hands. And following the post, many fans excitedly reacted to the small snippet of the 20-time Grand Slam champion, playing the sport. However, there was a stratum of fans who were undoubtedly relieved that the Swiss legend was not playing ‘Pickle Ball.’
It’s a fact that the 20-time Grand Slam champion didn’t vie for the 21st- Grand Slam due to a persistent issue with his knee for which Federer went under the knife. And keeping that in mind, a fan compassionately tweeted, “Whatevers easier on the knees for him ❤️”
While other fans found it hilarious seeing the tennis GOAT going at Padel. And said “Haha imagine the GOAT at Padel.”
While some were glad that it’s not pickleball! and said, “Well I’m glad it’s not pickleball”
And some wanted to watch the Swiss legend in action for an extended time. “Video needs to be longer. He’s moving much better than I expected though. And yeah. At least it’s not pickleball”.
