The Spanish tennis sensation is in Toronto, Ontario, but he still can’t get over his two Grand Slam victories in the past few months. In a press conference at the Canadian Open, Carlos Alcaraz revealed how he is still getting “goosebumps” while reminiscing about the match points of both his major triumphs in New York and London.

He said, “Sometimes I think back to my last point at US Open or at Wimbledon. & I have goosebumps. It’s crazy. I never would’ve imagined this. I’m still only 20, but clearly we did something that worked”

During the back-and-forth conversation, the young Spaniard also opened up about how didn’t get much time to “think about” his Wimbledon triumph. His comments were quite justified as he had to attend a lot of on and off-court events after his victory, including his participation in the Hopman Cup in Nice. Alcaraz went on to say that it was something he always dreamt about since his childhood and finally accomplishing it at the young age of 20 was “crazy.”

However, all of this might not have been impossible if hadn’t made a significant change in his approach that he previously brought to light in an interview.

After tasting defeat at the hands of Djokovic in the clay court major, the Spaniard knew he had to make some major changes to his approach. In an interview with the French daily L’Equipe, the young tennis star said how being “relaxed” during the British Slam was at the top of his priority list. In order to do so, the ATP player barely used his phone prior to his championship match of the grass-court major event.
