Known as one of the entertainers, Nick Kyrgios has made a fantastic start to this year’s Wimbledon Championships. Today, he beat the 26th seed Filip Krajinovic in straight sets to reach the third round of the Grand Slam event.

Many were already calling this one of the best performances in his career. After the match, Kyrgios had another entertaining interview, as he talked about his incredible abilities on the green surface.

It is worth noting that before the tournament, Kyrgios talked about being one of the top 10 players on the grass court. Although he faced a tough challenge in the first round, he showed his tremendous grass-court prowess in the second round against the Serbian player Krajinovic. Not to mention, he has had some excellent results on the grass-court before the Wimbledon.
Previously, he reached the semi-finals of both the Halle Open and the Stuttgart Open. After withdrawing from the Mallorca Open, he arrived at Wimbledon and played for over three hours to win his first-round match against British player Paul Jubb. Despite that, his form looks incredible right now, as he could be one of the dark horses of this tournament.
Kyrgios withdrew from his doubles match with Thanasi Kokkinakis
After his second-round victory today, he had another match in the doubles event with fellow countryman Thanasi Kokkinakis. However, he decided to pull out from that event to focus on his singles matches. Speaking about it, he said, “I played nearly four hours in my first round. Me personally, it was just too much time on court. Today I made up for that. But I want to put my singles as my priority. I’m doing what’s best for my body.”

During the pre-tournament press conference, Kyrgios expressed his frustration over playing five sets in the doubles tournament. Also, that was the main reason he never played doubles at Wimbledon before, he revealed. Now, it seems like he will have to wait another year to make his debut in the doubles tournament at Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, Kyrgios will play the no.4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the third round in a mouth-watering clash. Earlier, the Greek player also beat the Australian international, Jordan Thompson, in straight sets to set up a third-round clash with another Australian, Kyrgios.
