When it comes to longevity in tennis, there is only one name that pops out, Novak Djokovic. For more than a decade now, the Serbian has hit the ground running and has enamoured many with his game. Despite being in his late 30s, Djokovic knows no stopping. However, just like any other athlete, there comes a time when one ponders over their career.
Reflecting on the same, Novak Djokovic, in an interview, talked about the internal conflicts that he has been battling with. While having the hunger to play more, he has a separate mind that thinks about parenthood and enjoying time with his family.

In a recent revelation, Novak Djokovic came ahead and shared his thoughts that he has been struggling with. Djokovic shared that he is stuck between two big feelings, he loves tennis but also wants to be with his family more. He’s unsure when to stop playing and which tournaments to join because he feels torn.
He’s loved tennis since he was a kid and still does, but being away from his family hurts. Djokovic added that he keeps thinking about how long he should keep playing and how many tournaments are worth it. Usually, the Serb knows his goals, like winning big events, but now, apart from those, he’s not sure which tournaments he’ll pick.
“To be honest, I’m divided [on when to stop and where to play]. There’s always a part of me that is a young boy who just adores tennis and knows only about tennis…and that boy still wants to keep going. And then, on the other side, I’m the father of 2 children, and I’m away from my family, and every time I travel for an extended period of time it breaks my heart,” said Djokovic in the interview.
🇷🇸 Novak Djokovic, speaking last week, is ‘divided’ on when to retire and what tournaments to play:

He’s still excited to play and in good shape physically, but it’s getting tough emotionally. Tennis has been his top thing for 30 years, but now he worries about missing out on important moments with his kids. It’s a tough decision for him.
However, despite having divided opinion about playing further, Novak Djokovic, in an interview, earlier came ahead and talked about when he plans to hang up his boots and finally announce his retirement.
