Tennis fans can cheer for Carlos Alcaraz at the Wimbledon 2024, but they shouldn’t forget to try to love Novak Djokovic. The two tennis stars would be meeting soon in a clash of generations. But what has surprised everyone is Djokovic’s journey after having surgery, as he received some flak from the crowd throughout the tournament. However, like his ex-arch nemesis, Andy Roddick, the tennis circuit couldn’t help but get mesmerized by the greatness of the Serbian ace’s Wimbledon campaign.
Many tennis experts have been left speechless by Djokovic’s miracle run at Wimbledon! Who would have thought that the 24-time Grand Slam champion would be playing at the Grass Slam, let alone make it to the final? Certainly not Roddick. He discounted the Serbian ace’s dedication and fitness to stand on the grass and make the rematch of last year happen. Moreover, he defended his math of recovery from surgery in 20 days as a miracle, which might be impossible. Consequently, Roddick got embroiled in a controversy with one of Djokovic’s fans, who believed in the Serbian ace over every logic.
However, the retired American pro is not the one to hide from his mistakes! He fell short of words in praising Djokovic’s journey to finals in his recent podcast,”I’m a moron for thinking four weeks is a short timeline to make a Wimbledon final post knee surgery.” It’s not Roddick who is eating his words but most of the tennis pundits who didn’t think that Djokovic would make it through. Further he explained his logic, which made him discount the Serbian ace for short.

“Math adds up no that timeline’s short, and he still has Fitness it’s been compromised he hasn’t been at a physical peak he’s got to somehow make up that ground and recover from knee surgery the logic is there the logic was always there.”– He further added. However, he forgot that logic doesn’t work when it comes to Big 3. Rafael Nadal won his 14th French Open in pain. And Djokovic is winning it 20 days after surgery. The tennis greats have transcended all the logic!
After accepting that he was “wrong.” The American tennis legend was left speechless, as he had just one thing to say, “We’re watching greatness I don’t know I don’t know I don’t know what to tell you I don’t know how you get over.” Rightly so, as Djokovic battles the Spaniard on the grass. Both the players are at the ends of a spectrum: Alcaraz beginning his journey and Djokovic looking at the beautiful sunset!

From foes to amicable relation: A tale of Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick
Roger Federer has Wimbledon, Rafael Nadal has Roland Garros, but what about Djokovic? There are two left: Australian Open and the US Open. However, US Open may not be the option for the Serbian due to the murky accident with Roddick. It was back in 2008, when Roddick lost the quarterfinals to Djokovic, and what followed was violence. Roddick had Djokovic against the metal lockers in the changing room, before they were separated by Serb’s trainer.
