The 41-year-old could have won all 4 grand slams where he was defeated by Roger Federer according to Rick Macci. In an exclusive interview for the ES Fancast, Rick Macci talked about how different and better Roddick’s future might have been if Federer had not been on the opposite end.

He said, “He not only had the biggest serve back then, he had the highest percentage. It’s one thing to hit it hard, it’s one thing to get it in. People don’t realize how good his serve was. From the ground off, he was flawless. He loved to hit it hard. He was a brutal competitor. He was like a mosquito. He would always bother me. “Can I play the guy? Can I play the guy?” He just loved competition so much. Roddick had very few bad losses. He was always in the top 10. So, if there’s no Federer, he would have had 5 or 6 grand slams for sure. Because he has beaten all those guys.”

Macci feels that Roddick had the power to defeat all the top-seeded players but it was only Federer that stood in the way of Roddick and the titles of the grand slams. And it is evident given that he lost 4 major finals due to him.
