Stefanos Tsitsipas has undoubtedly achieved a status as one of the current generation stars on the ATP Tour. However, it looks like the former world number three has an upcoming competition, and that too from his family. It is none other than the Greek star’s younger brother, Pavlos. Although he hasn’t broken into the ATP Tour, given his recent match, he might as well be as successful as his brother in the future.
Pavlos Tsitsipas, the younger brother of the 5th seed, is taking part in the International German Junior Championship conducted in Bamberg. He won his recent match and qualified for the main draw. Tsitsipas Junior had something to say, and he shared it after his win. Pavlos Tsitsipas won the match by 6-0, 6-1, raising the bar high for his future in the ATP.

In the post-match conversation, Tsitsipas Junior talked about his game, the court, and the environment he played in. But what attracted the people more were his icons. When asked about whom he looks up to, the winner of the match said that his brother is an obvious role model to him.
Roger Federer, the Swiss Maestro, is another icon the teenager looks up to. He said, “Yeah, he (Stefanos Tsitsipas) is my biggest role model, I would say. My brother, of course, and yeah, he is a huge inspiration to me, and I mean also Roger Federer. He is a huge inspiration to me, and these are the people I try to, let’s say, copy.”

He commented, “But I want to make my own role.” When asked about the advantages he has over other players, he said that his game is based on his first serve. He added that he tries to control the point and go to the nets.
As the video clip of his interview did the rounds on Twitter, Twitteratis couldn’t help but notice the similarities between the brothers. Users wished him luck for the future and hoped that he achieves more. The 2023 Australian Open finalist also shared the post-match video with an adorable yet mocking “Stop copying me bro😘” as a caption.

Different people, different role models
Though related by blood, the brothers chose different role models for themselves. On one side, we have Federer, who is calm and composed throughout the game. On the other side, we have Novak Djokovic, who is expressive and dramatic on the field. Stefanos, in an interview with ‘Sports DNA,’ revealed that he takes Djokovic as an example.
