Boris Becker, the former German tennis player was recently released from prison. While in prison, Becker wasn’t allowed to meet his family and friends. His compatriot, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp shared a few words about his friend’s ordeal.

Becker recently opened up about his time behind bars. He stated that his close buddy and LFC manager Jurgen Klopp wasn’t able to see him because of security concerns.
The Anfield hero then stated that he would be delighted to have Becker at a match. However, due to the terms of his release, he will be unable to do so because he is barred from entering the UK for at least ten years.
Liverpool manager shares his views about Boris Becker
Jurgen Klopp claims that his attempts to see Boris Becker in prison were unsuccessful because he was turned away and classified as a “security risk.”
The Anfield Star said,” I would have been a security risk(at the prison)..”
The retired tennis champion recently left HM Huntercombe and was deported to his home country of Germany.
According to Mirror, Klopp explained,” That’s why it didn’t work. But that’s no longer important either – what matters is that Boris is free again.”
Klopp has now extended an invitation to the former tennis champion to attend a Liverpool game.
Becker had been detained in the UK on suspicion of tax evasion. He was recently granted parole from prison. He had served eight months of the sentence by this point.
The tennis legend was put behind bars at HMP locations in Wandsworth and Oxfordshire.
Becker said on television shortly after arriving back in Germany that his “excellent friend” was unable to visit him. According to Klopp, who has now corroborated those reports, they only spoke over the phone while he was in jail.
Klopp shared that he didn’t mind not being able to visit him now that he is free.
He added,” what matters is that Boris is free again.”
Becker adjusted to life in his home nation, looking haggard and distraught, he remembered it as the most terrible year of his life.
Klopp further added, “It was just particularly important to me to support Boris and to tell him that we won’t let him down.”

Becker startled many viewers with his look in his first interview following his release from a UK prison. The emotional three-time former Wimbledon champion spoke with German network Sat TV a few days after being released from a UK prison. The former German champion also revealed that a prisoner named “John” had threatened to hurt him. The prisoner had served 25 years in prison.

Another prisoner named “Icke” had grabbed the German and tried to strangle the tennis player. Becker claimed twelve prisoners were responsible for his survival that day.
