The Centre Court crowd today thoroughly enjoyed the final match of the Wimbledon Championships 2022 between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios. Safe to say, the match had plenty of drama, as both players gave their all. In the end, the Serb got the better of the Aussie star in four entertaining sets.
While the match was exhilarating, the post-match interview was probably more entertaining, as both players had a fun time answering questions from Sue Barker. In the on-court interview, we saw Djokovic saying some nice things to Kyrgios, as they are officially in a “bromance” according to the 21-time Grand Slam champion. However, during the interview, he was also reminded about his wedding anniversary.

After Kyrgios‘ interview, Djokovic came to the microphone and complimented the Aussie player. He said, “Nick, you’ll be back – not just at Wimbledon but in finals!… you showed you deserve to be one of the best players in the world, particularly on this surface. I wish you all the best, man. I really respect you a lot.”

Today, once again, Djokovic showed why he is one of the best players in the history of tennis, as he played some clutch tennis against the Aussie to win his 21st Grand Slam title. In the beginning, Kyrgios played some entertaining tennis to secure the first set against Djokovic. However, Djokovic came back brilliantly in the match, like in his previous two matches, and won the second set, 6-3.?
The third set saw plenty of drama, as Kyrgios received a code violation for audible obscenity. Despite all the drama, Djokovic won the third set and the next set in a tie-breaker to clinch his fourth title in a row and 7th title overall at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. The match lasted just over three hours and the final score was 4-6 6-3 6-4 7-6(3). Meanwhile, with this win, Djokovic is just one title away from matching both, Roger Federer’s record of 8 Wimbledon Championships and Rafael Nadal’s 22 Grand Slam titles.
