Serena Williams’ ex-coach had listed Nick Kyrgios as the top spot. Roddick was placed third on the list, behind the Aussie and John Isner. However, Mouratoglou’s list did not include Pete Sampras or Goran Ivanisevic, arguably two of the greatest servers in tennis history. Roddick clarified on Twitter that he was not dismissing Mouratoglou’s claims outright.

In his tweet, Roddick stated that the headline of the article was deceiving and that he did not “rubbish” anyone. The American also added that he felt his service was not as good as some people made it out to be. He also explained that, if anything, he was “rubbishing” himself.

Roddick’s career saw him win more than 200  ATP singles titles, including the US Open in 2003. He often clocked in at over 150 miles per hour, and Roddick’s serve helped him reach the top of the rankings in 2003.

The American tweeted back, “Per usual headline deceiving. Didn’t rubbish anyone. Just said my serve wasn’t as good as people represent in comparison to other all-time servers.”
