Jimmy Connors was in one of the episodes of his podcast when he started to share his gambling story with his son and the listeners engaged. He shared a story from the time when he was playing at the Alan King Tennis Classic at the Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas between 1972 to 1985. The story that he shared was how he had finished one of the matches from the tournament and got mixed up with an old friend to play at the craps table.

Connors also added how one thing led to another and he lost a lot of the paycheck he had earned. He added, “I take a few bucks out of my pocket and we start playing. There are a couple of rolls and a couple of bad rolls. And I never took markers that was a golden rule I had. And by the time I am done taking all my markers, I say I am signing out and going to bed. And I didn’t realize what it was. But I had to win the tournament to pay back for the markers.”

Connors shared how he lost all the money he had at the time. Consequently, he had to make sure to win the tournament the next day so that he could pay for the markers and this does not go back to his mother who at the time used to manage his finances. As funny as this story sounds now, it wouldn’t have been easy for Connors at the time
