Now, with the Laver cup starting on 23rd September, the 24-year-old is pumped-up to get things started. In one of his recent interviews, he spoke about his and his teams? chances in this year?s Laver cup.?

Tiafoe’s run to the semifinals of the US Open 2022 will go down as one of the highlights of his career. However, the eventual champion, Carlos Alcaraz of Spain, ended his run in a five-set thriller.?
Frances Tiafoe is excited for this year?s Laver Cup
With less than 10 days to go before the start of the Laver Cup, Frances Tiafoe has confirmed that he would be joining Team World. Ahead of this much-awaited competition, Frances Tiafoe spoke in an interview about his capabilities and the overall chances of his team by saying, ?I love Laver Cup competition. It?s an incredible event and I hope I can win points for Team World in London this time. I know what to expect and I think we have a great chance this year of taking the title from Team Europe.“
On the other hand, McEnroe, who is arguably one of the greatest players of all time, was more than happy to have recruited Tiafoe for the Laver Cup.
“I am thrilled to have Frances on the team. He has raised his game to a whole new level and has shown that he can compete and win against the best players on Tour,” said the 63-year-old.
After making his debut at the 2017 Laver Open in Prague, Tiafoe went on to make a name for himself at the United Center in Chicago the following year. In this year?s Laver cup, he is going to be a part of a team that comprises Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alex De Minaur, Diego Schwartzman, Taylor Fritz, and Jack Sock.
The history of the Laver Cup
As the fifth edition of the Laver Cup approaches, fans are excited to see the defending champions Team Europe take on the Team World. This event comprises two teams going against one another in a series of hard-court matches, much like golf’s Ryder Cup.

A significant proportion of Team Europe will comprise Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. Since its inception in 2017, the Europeans have won four consecutive tournaments. In 2021, they dominated Team World, defeating them 14-1. Fans can’t wait to see if Team World has what it takes to halt Team Europe’s winning streak.?
