He mentioned hearing the iconic “Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oy oy oy” chant so much that it stuck with him, even appearing in his dreams from the previous year. Despite his comment, Shelton expressed genuine appreciation for the passionate support of the Australian fans. He commended the crowd for creating a special and unique atmosphere at the tournament.

“It was a tough today against a guy who definitely had that home crowd support. That ‘Aussie Aussie Aussie. Oy oy oy’ chant. I hear it in my sleep at night from last year . But I love the way you guys support your guys. You guys do it right. Everyone who came out today, you make the atmosphere here special,” said Shelton in the interview.

Thus, after winning his second-round match, Shelton came ahead and took a moment to appreciate all the fans who were present at the stadium during his match.

Not only this he further went ahead to add that the crowd of the college is more hostile than the crowd that players witness at the stadium. Despite this, they still had the rowdiness.

“Maybe every once in a while they’re booing me . I love being out here. I think college tennis has somewhat of a hostile environment. This is much less hostile but they definitely have the rowdiness,” said Shelton during the interview.
