Argentine tennis star Diego Schwartzman is currently in England, playing in the Eastbourne International tennis tournament. The 29-year-old was playing in the grass-court tournament to prepare himself for the upcoming Wimbledon championship. However, a horrible incident happened at the hotel that he was staying in.

Notably, World No15 Diego Schwartzman and Pedro Martinez, ranked No49, had the items stolen from the Hydro Hotel on the South Coast. The Argentine took to his Twitter account to explain his situation.
Burglary in the Eastbourne hotel
In a shocking incident, two top tennis players competing in the Eastbourne Championship had their stuff stolen from the hotel room they were staying in. Schwartzman took to his Twitter account in a series of tweets to explain his situation.

“Hello everyone!!! I tell you that unfortunately this Sunday at the hotel @HydroHotel, I had a lot of belongings stolen in Eastbourne. Including the passport. Credit cards and various other things. Thanks to everyone who cared and asked if I needed anything,” he wrote. (Google Translate)
The incident saddened Pedro Martinez as well. Reacting to it the Spanish tennis star said, “It was difficult. I had a watch stolen from my room [on Monday] and Schwartzman had some items also stolen from his room, I had a bad night, that’s the truth. I didn’t sleep. It was difficult to prepare the match but I just tried to focus on playing.”
While both Schwartzman and Pedro Martinez gave their statements, the Sussex police confirmed the same.

With all the off-court troubles going on this week, Diego Schwartzman lost out to a comparatively inexperienced Jack Draper. The Briton continued his impressive form in the tournament to beat the world number 15 in straight sets. The 20-year-old started attacking upfront and clinched the match 7-5, 7-6(3). Playing on the home soil for the third straight event, the Briton broke serve three times in the victory while saving four of six break points against the 29-year-old.
