The semi-final of the French Open between Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev had plenty of drama. The first set saw the German take an early lead as he broke Nadal in the very first game. However, the Spaniard immediately came back in his typical fashion and eventually won the set in a tie-break.

Meanwhile, in the second set, Zverev was about to serve for the set but made a double fault. Out of frustration, he yelled in German and the chair umpire thought he used unacceptable language on the court. So, he gave him a warning, which the German didn’t appreciate, and started arguing with the umpire.

As he recieved the warning, Zverev immediately ran towards the chair umpire and started arguing. He constantly said, “did not say that word. I did not say that bad word!”

However, he could not win the argument with the chair umpire and went back to his end. It seemed like he completely lost his concentration as a result of that argument. He could not hold his serve, as Nadal broke back to come back in the set.

After the argument, Nadal made a terrific comeback in the set to go level at 6-6. However, at that moment, the German suffered a horrible injury, as he twisted his ankle while sliding to hit the ball. As he was screaming in unbelievable pain, Nadal and the chair umpire rushed toward him to check on his condition.
The stadium doctors and authorities took Zverev inside to do a thorough check-up. After a few minutes, he came out on crutches, as the crowd applauded him massively. Subsequently, he shook hands with the chair umpire, and everyone knew the match was over. Then he had a long and emotional embrace with his opponent for the day, Rafa Nadal.

In the end, the match finished with a score line, 7-6 6-6, in favor of Nadal. As a result, the 21-time Grand Slam winner reaches the final and will face either Marin Cilic or Casper Ruud.
