Notably, back in 2017 at the US Open press conference, a little boy named Izyan Ahmad asked Federer if he could play for 8 or 9 years more, so he could play with him as a pro. Although everyone laughed, Federer gave his ‘pinky promise’ to the young boy, who also goes by the nickname ‘Zizou’.

Earlier, a video went viral on social media where Zizou’s dream came true as he finally got the chance to play his idol, Roger Federer. Later, Federer shared that video on his official Instagram account, and in the caption, he wrote, “One of the great benefits of this unbelievable sport are moments like these. Zizou, all the best and keep working hard. P.S I always keep my pinky promises.“

As seen in the video, Zizou went to Zurich for a practice session; however, he had no idea that the Swiss Maestro had a surprise for him. Federer set up the whole thing as the restaurant owner took a selfie with the young boy while wearing a t-shirt with his face on it.
Later, a few boys and girls were chanting Zizou’s name from the practice ground, which surprised him even more. Meanwhile, Federer was watching the whole thing behind the camera as he burst into laughter on several occasions.
Eventually, Federer came out to surprise the young lad, as he became really emotional after seeing the legend. Then, they had a few rallies on the court, and later they both enjoyed a nice plate of pasta together at the restaurant.
Federer recently celebrated his 41st birthday
On 8th August, Roger Federer celebrated his 41st birthday in style as he posted a picture on his Instagram. Moreover, he wrote a hilarious caption about getting old. He wrote, “You know you?re getting old when the candles cost more than the cake.”

Meanwhile, Federer will soon return to the tennis court at the Laver Cup. He will represent Team Europe alongside Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and others. The tournament will begin in late September in London.
