Novak Djokovic is certainly one of the most polarizing figures the sport of tennis has ever seen. Unlike his 2 biggest rivals – Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, he shares a love-hate relationship with the fans. In a recent research conducted by the World Sports Network, it was revealed that the Serb topped the list of the most hated tennis players online.
Controversies continued to surround him at the ongoing French Open as well. Djokovic faced condemnation from the French sports minister for his message of ending the violence between ethnic Albanians and Serbs after his opening-round bout at Roland Garros.
There is no denying the fact that wherever he plays, all eyes are on his actions – be it on the court or off it. During his second-round match against Hungarian Marton Fucsovics at the French Open, a unique device was seen taped to his chest. Quite unsurprisingly, this sparked myriad reactions from fans all over Twitter.

What this device actually is
The device seen taped to Djokovic’s chest is actually a magnetic chip used to relieve chronic pain and anxiety. It is part of a natural and non-invasive treatment regime known as magnetic field therapy, which aims to treat mental stress that comes along with persistent pain issues in the body. Djokovic seems to be using this procedure in order to heal from recurring injury issues in his body that forced him to withdraw from the Madrid Open in the run-up to Roland Garros.
