Nick Kyrgios has been absent from the court for most of the 2023 season. Injuries caused a setback, and the Aussie star has not been able to recover and able to play in a professional capacity again. He has taken part in several off-court ventures, including his time with Tennis Channel in the last week. Now that his time with them has come to an end, Andy Roddick stated that he does not want to see Kyrgios back on the desk.

Although Roddick does not want to see Kyrgios back on Tennis Channel, his work with the team left several fans impressed. His role as commentator won fans over, and they are craving for more.

Kyrgios has provided us with great insights over the last week as we saw him working with Tennis Channel. The Aussie star showed us a different side of him, and he impressed many around the world. Despite his great work covering the ATP Finals, Andy Roddick, a regular with the channel, said that he does not want to see Kyrgios come back on the desk.

He said, “Listen, it’s been awesome, and I know I’m in the minority here, but I don’t wanna see him back at this Tennis Channel desk anytime soon because I’d rather see him on court, doing his thing, pissing people off. Being the human highlight show. This tennis version of Nick and this on-camera one, I wanna let the beast out. This is a little too tame. We need to see the beast again, that’s it.”

He also wished Kyrgios good health going forward and also said that he loved working with the Aussie star. Roddick now wants to see Kyrgios back on the court, but the Aussie star has won over fans working as a commentator.

Fans love the commentary of Kyrgios

The semifinal in Turin took place between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. For the bout, Tennis Channel picked Kyrgios as one of the commentators. The former number 13, with the help of his expertise, provided great coverage for the match. His commentary impressed fans, and they shared their happiness with the choice of commentary team with Tennis Channel on social media.

They also asked the tennis media outlet to invite him again as they loved to see him talk and cover the matches. Roddick wants Kyrgios to keep playing for much longer before he moves on to a new role, but his skills as a commentator left fans begging for more. The question remains: will the Aussie star take the commentating role anytime soon?
