Alexander Zverev defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis in straight sets at Miami
The forehand exchanges of Zverev overwhelmed the Australian player. Kokkinakis had been preparing to play his first match in the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 event. However, the German player kept his gameplay imposing even after Kokkinakis tried to revert back to an aggressive game. After this victory, Zverev leads the ATP Head2Head series of the players by 1-0.
In the Australian Open earlier this year, Thanasi Kokkinakis won the men’s double trophy along with Nick Kyrgios. The world no. 97 had started off his year with a good start by seizing his first tour-level title in Adelaide.
