Putting his disappointments of not managing to defend his singles title behind, Hubert Hurkacz joined hands with John Isner to win the Miami Open Doubles title. Entering the draw as a wildcard, the pair showed no mercy, cruising through the initial rounds to reach the finals. In the finals, they outplayed the 6th seeded pair of Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski in straight sets to clinch the title.

With their emphatic Doubles win in Miami, Hubert Hurkacz and John Isner have joined the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer in an unique record. Along with Federer, the record is also shared by Richard Krajicek.

The incredible feat achieved by Hubert Hurkacz and John Isner

Winning the title, John Isner and Hubert Hukacz became the third and the fourth players in the history of the Miami Open to win both the men’s singles and doubles titles. The feat was previously held by Roger Federer and Richard Krajicek.

Roger Federer is undoubtedly one of the most successful players in the history of tennis. The former World No. 1 has some of the biggest records to his name, that have remain untouched for years now. In a career spanning more than 2 decades, Federer has won a total of 103 singles titles. That’s not all. The 40-year-old has also won 8 doubles titles in his career as well.

Federer is a four-time Miami Masters champion. Incidentally, he beat John Isner in the final in 2019 to win his last Miami Open title.

Richard Krajicek, the Dutch player rose to fame when he won Wimbledon in 1996. During his tournament campaign, he beat the legendary Pete Sampras in the quarterfinals. At the time of retirement in 2003, the player had a total of 17 singles and 3 doubles titles to his name. Out of these 20 titles, 2 came in at the Miami Open. He won the 1999 singles title, along with Doubles title in 1993.

John Isner is a highly celebrated American player. Turning pro in 2007, the big server?has won a total of 16 singles titles and 8 doubles titles to date. Out of these 24 titles, 2 have come in Miami. He won the singles title in 2018, and the doubles in 2022 in the Sunshine State.

Last but not least, Hubert Hurkacz. Turning pro in 2015, the Polish player has been having a rapidly growing career. Currently World No. 14, Hubert has won a total of 4 singles and 3 doubles titles so far.
