Fatherhood is a journey filled with triumphs and challenges. And the new dad on the ATP tour, Lorenzo Musetti, is all in action right now. However, while Musetti is focusing on Roland Garros, where he plays in R2 in less than hours, the question that arises right now is about his newborn son!

On March 15, 2024, the Italian tennis pro announced the happy news on his Instagram as he welcomed his first child, a baby boy, into the world. The former World No. 15 has been dating his girlfriend, Veronica Confalonieri, for two years now. Sharing a black-and-white picture of their boy named Ludovico, who is now two months old, the couple wrote on Instagram, “Buongiorno mondo.” The caption, when translated into English, reveals, “Good morning, world.”

Although his face remained hidden in the picture, fans were delighted to get a glimpse of Musetti’s newborn baby. However, the journey has not been entirely smooth for the 22-year-old player. This is because soon after Musetti’s son was born, he had to fulfill his work commitments in tennis, as he was due to play in the Miami Open.

However, Lorenzo Musetti’s unwavering determination did not waver, and he competed successfully against Ben Shelton and Roman Safiullin in the first two rounds. Although he fell short against Carlos Alcaraz in the third round, according to Musetti, it was hardly a defeat. “My biggest victory. Nothing compares to that. Thanks to my girlfriend Veronica for allowing me to come here and do my job,” Musetti admitted.

Since then, Musetti has played back-to-back tournaments throughout the season. However, right now, the Challenger Turin, IT finalist is all set to face Gael Monfils in the second round at Roland Garros. However, off the court, his goal remains firm, as he admitted, “The main goal for this season is to try and be a nice father.”  Not only now, but even before becoming a father, Musetti’s excitement was palpable.

Lorenzo Musetti shares his happiness about becoming a father

Lorenzo Musetti ended 2023 with a huge achievement. After all, he won the Davis Cup trophy last year, the first Italian in almost 50 years. But, this year proved to be extra special for the couple. In December 2023, the couple took to their Instagram and revealed their luxurious vacation in the Maldives. However, what caught the attention of fans was the baby bump of Veronica Confalonieri.

The two posed for a maternity photoshoot on the beach, which instantly created waves in the tennis world. However, Musetti has also previously addressed his fatherhood in the Davis Cup final as well. “Yes, at the end of March, I will become the father of a boy, I am very happy,” he declared.

Armed with the love and support of his family, Lorenzo Musetti is now all set to achieve another one of his victories on the court. While he does that, hopefully, the tennis world will see more glimpses of this new father-son duo.
