The Spanish tennis star is once again the talk of the town, but this time, it’s not for his on-court achievements. Alcaraz has now turned heads with a surprising off-court gesture.

In a recent picture that is now going viral on the internet, the 21-year-old can be seen capturing a photo of his Nike shoes and other tennis gear. The box is emboldened with ‘The Wimbledon Ball’ tag. The Spaniard took to his Instagram story ahead of his draw match at the Halle Open, and posted the output picture with the caption, “We are ready.” But, what caught the attention of the fans was the phone case of the star player as he captured the photo. 

Several people took to the microblogging platform X, to share their opinion about the World No. 2’s phone cover that shows a picture of hismelf. While some supported him and claimed his traits to be similar to theirs, others took a mild dig at Alcaraz for being self-obsessed. This comes just a day after Alcaraz took his fans to surprise by yet another remarkable trait.

Ahead of his match against Francis Cerundolo, the Spanish star was seen practicing against his opponent. This was considered to be a never-seen-before trait with Carlos Alcaraz set to establish a new benchmark for many in the tennis community. Alcaraz, meanwhile, is currently playing his opening match at the Halle Open against his Argentine counterpart. As he prepares for another sensational Grand Slam venture at Wimbledon, his recent picture has surely left his fans in awe.

Taking to X, one user claimed to relate with Alcaraz. “His phone case being himself is sending meeeee,” the user wrote. Sharing similar sentiments, another user wrote, “His phone case is himself omg he’s so me 😭😭😭😭.” Alcaraz’s gesture, meanwhile, reflects with his past statements as well.

In an interview with El Pais, Alcaraz revealed his gameplay. When asked if he is aware of his potential, he said, “I do know how good a player I am, and I don’t think that’s arrogance, but simply self-confidence.” Continuing further, he added that opponents faced difficulties against him and considered it to be a virtue. “I know how difficult it is for opponents to beat me and to play at a very high level for so long against me in order to beat me, and I think that is a virtue I have.

Meanwhile, another user simply highlighted the sweet gesture and claimed that the Spanish can not be hated. “Ofc his phone case is himself 😭😭🤣 how can you hate him.”

Sharing surprise and awe, another user simply wrote, “The phon’s cover omgg😭😭💘.”

The gesture of Alcaraz is quite acceptable as well. Having won three grand slams on three different surfaces, it is expected that he is the most inspiring player for himself. Besides, the picture in which the Nike Shoes are revealed so clearly, it is evident that Carlitos is taking some pride in the huge deal he has secured from the sportswear giant.

For the unversed, the new deal with Nike is estimated to pay Alcaraz in the range of $15 to $20 million per year over the next decade. This is more than what legends like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were offered by the company.
