The Italian seemed to be in a confident and relaxed state before the high-profile fixture, as he was seen making the most of the company of his 37-year-old girlfriend Melissa Satta alongside him at the tournament. He reposted an adorable video posted by Satta in his Instagram story, where the couple shared an affectionate moment as they walked, holding hands together and enjoying each other’s presence.

He struggled with poor form and inconsistencies on the court even before this injury derailed the course of his season.
