It has been months since we last saw Rafael Nadal play. The Spanish tennis legend was last seen in action at the Australian Open where he lost in the second round. Subsequently, he has been out of action due to a muscle injury that has taken months to heal. However, the Spaniard finally broke his silence yesterday regarding his comeback, much to the delight of tennis fans. Hours after announcing his potential return, Nadal has dropped another big update.
While fans have been waiting to see Nadal play again, there were rumors that he might never play again before retiring. But the former World Number 1 has quashed those rumors.

Sharing a picture of his practice session via a post on his official Instagram handle, Nadal said, “I confirmed yesterday I’ll be back. Stay tuned these days when I decide and announce with my team when and where.”

At 37, Rafael Nadal is running out of time in his tennis career. Further, he has won just a solitary match this year which has significantly affected his ranking. The Spaniard has dropped to the 664th position on the ATP rankings chart. Thus, it will be a mammoth challenge for the former World Number 1 on his comeback.
Nonetheless, Nadal’s announcement yesterday brought relief to thousands of fans who were hoping to see Nadal play before his retirement. Although brief, his comeback news spread like wildfire on social media.

Rafael Nadal assesses his situation
The Spaniard has returned to training after recovering from his injury. Yesterday, he talked about how he felt on his return to the court and whether he’ll make a comeback to competitive tennis.
Talking about this, he said, “Until now, I didn’t know if I would ever play tennis again, and now I sincerely believe that I will play tennis again. Every time I am able to train a little more, the evolution seems to be good.”
