Now Djokovic’s tremendous performance brought him 98 trophies including his recent win at the 2023 ATP Finals. This made him only five titles away from Federer’s record. Now the way the world’s number-one player is not catching a break, the audience is assured that Federer’s record will soon be broken. In a recent podcast, Andy Roddick dropped an amazing comment on Djokovic’s hard work to present himself as a legendary personality in tennis. Roddick said- “He wants that all time titles number that Connors has, that’s what’s going to drive him throughout the next couple of years. And he’s hot on that trail.”

Jimmy Connors has a record of winning the most singles men’s titles in tennis with prestigious 109 trophies. This record has been approached by many tennis players before but none could truly achieve it for almost a century.

Roddick backed Djokovic throughout the Nitto ATP 2023 tournament

This is not the first time Andy Roddick revealed something truly great about his colleague Novak Djokovic. Previously in a match of the group stage, when Italy’s Jannik Sinner defeated Djokovic, Roddick came in support of the world’s number-one player.

Roddick commented: “Hey that might have been the best match ever played.” Although in that match luck didn’t work out for Djokovic but Roddick didn’t lose his hope on the Serbian legend. He further added: “Novak played well today. He doesn’t often play that well… there were winning points, right?”

While winning the ATP 2023 Finals surely helped Djokovic to come some steps closer to his dream of breaking Connors’ record, he played well throughout the tournament.
