And now, decades later, Boris Becker is known for the fraud he committed; found guilty of four charges under the Insolvency Act, in the UK. But, the fallen tennis star is back home to spend Christmas with his family.
Recently, after serving 8 months of his total sentence and qualifying for prison-serving reduction time; Becker, in an attempt to regain his lost footing, gave an exclusive interview with broadcaster Sat1. However, he was greeted with an unfavorable result.

After being granted a Christmas miracle from his sentence, the former tennis star gave an exclusive interview, opening up about his time as an inmate and other horrifying experiences. However, the heart-wrenching tale of the former World No.1 failed to capture the audience for his broadcast. Result? A loss of approximately $500,000 to the broadcaster. What could be more disappointing for the German? His 200 minutes interview failed to capture even the attention of his countrymen; who seemed more interested in ‘The Bidding Room.’
According to the figures, only 1.5 million people watched against 4.5 million watching the bidding room. However, the broadcasters blame it on the Christmas season and are hoping that repeat of the show may help them gain the lost ground, as Becker is an international personality.
Moreover, there were no takers for the German’s heartfelt talk in the UK itself.
Becker to spend Christmas with his family

It’s a Merry Christmas for the 7-time Grand Slam champion, as the fallen star is back home, to enjoy Christmas festivities with his family. Becker qualified for prison-serving reduction time, that is, the prisoner’s sentence is reduced if he agrees to go back to his home country and cannot return to the UK, for the entire sentence, here its 2.5 years.
Even though the former World No.1 has spent most of his time in the UK, it’s still a blessing in disguise for the fallen star. As, nowhe would be able to celebrate Christmas at home.
There might be tough times ahead for the Germans. However, for now, its just Merry Christmas.
