The win of Jannik Sinner is not only to him and his family but also to the people of the town where he was born and that is Sesto near Austria. However, the people of the town could not celebrate his victory nor could he with his townspeople because of a tragic accident that took place there.
A woman and her 2 sons died in the accident, which has created an atmosphere of sadness in the town. Owing to this situation, Sinner decided to make a sacrifice and not celebrate with his family after his Australian Open success.

The tragic incident that took place in Sesto deprived the people of the town of not celebrating the success of Jannik Sinner. This has made the young player rethink his choices at the moment, which is why he probably decided to ditch the celebrations for now.

Not only that, but he has also decided not to meet his parents now. Sinner shared, “I would have liked to return to Sesto to see my parents. But there was a tragedy, with an accident where three people died. I don’t want to go to Sesto now for this reason, celebrating there is absolutely not the case, so I have decided to stay here in Rome.”
So, for now, he will be staying put in Rome and not continue this celebration. Even the Mayor of Sesto has delayed the honorary celebration for Sinner due to the tragedy.

Sesto’s mayor declared postponing his honorary celebration for winning a grand slam
In an interview, the mayor of Sesto shared how he is very proud of the Jannik Sinner and he is the pride of the town for being only the second man in the Open era to win a Grand Slam. But keeping the circumstances in mind, he added, “It is not the right time or atmosphere to celebrate. But we are in contact with Jannik’s management, with the right distance we will organize a moment to honor him.”

It seems like the right move for now. Nevertheless, fans hope Jannik Sinner gets to celebrate with his parents soon following a historic championship run.
