He stated that the Swiss tennis legend can become a movie star after his glorious tennis journey. The Laver Cup, initiated by Federer’s management company TEAM8, was named as such in honor of the legendary Australian champion.
Rod Laver talked about Federer’s career post tennis
During a recent interview, the Australian legend talked about his ‘connection’ with the Swiss Maestro. He stated, “Not too many people retire like that, I played Bjorn Borg when I was 38. I didn’t announce that it was my retirement, but it was obvious that I was coming to the end. Roger had such a long, successful career, he knew he wanted there to be something where he said clearly, ‘OK, that’s enough.’ What he’s going to do in the future is anybody’s guess.”
Laver further stated, “His avenues are open everywhere. He could become a movie star.”
The former Australian player believes that Federer could be successful in various fields as he could also become a movie star after moving away from the tennis court.
The 20 grand slam title winner, Roger Federer, has previously worked as an actor in the film industry. He worked with popular movie stars like Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. The tennis legend, Federer, got featured in Swiss tourism adverts with Hathaway and De Niro.
