Rafael Nadal is one of those athletes who like giving back to the sport that made them who they are. His sprawling state-of-the-art academies, initially only in Spain, but now in various places, have been promoting tennis, giving so many aspiring players all they need to reach the top! And now, he is all set to add yet another feather to his cap, and this time, it is not another title.

Nadal, who arrived in Madrid, recently attended an event marking the establishment of the UAX Rafa Nadal Sports University, a dream project of the Spaniard, in association with the Alfonso X el Sabio University. The 21-time Grand Slam-winning champion had previously said the values and morals of the Alfonso X el Sabio University match with his own personal ones.

For the event, his father Sebastian Nadal, his uncle and former coach Toni Nadal and even his current agent Carlos Costa also accompanied him.

“Today we have presented in Madrid a very important project for me. I am especially excited to join the Alfonso X el Sabio University. Training and education facilitate and help improve the future of young people, which is why the bases of UAX Rafa Nadal Sports University are to work with young people, giving them the necessary tools through education, health and sport,” Rafael Nadal wrote for his Instagram post.

Rafael Nadal is back on the tour

Rafael Nadal’s 2022 was going great until the Indian Wells. He won 3 back-to-back titles, one of which was the record 21st Grand Slam at the Australian Open.

This was especially impressive as he came into the hard court season after a prolonged hiatus because of an injury. He even managed to reach the finals at the Indian Wells Masters but sustained a fracture to his ribs. As a result, he has missed a significant part of the clay-court season, which is extremely important for the preparation for the French Open.

But he recently announced that he is back on track for the Mutua Madrid Open, and his fans cannot wait for the King of Clay to be back on his favorite court.
