Currently, the 24-time Grand Slam champion is playing at the Australian Open, and Kyrgios, on the other hand, is enjoying his new role as a commentator. Recently, during Djokovic’s quarter-final clash, the Serb pulled a cheeky act towards the 2018-old Australian, grabbing all eyes towards them.

During the quarter-final clash between the world number one-ranked tennis player and the 26-year-old American tennis player, Taylor Fritz, there was a moment when the Serb pulled a cheeky act towards the commentators’ box, pointing out Kyrgios. Djokovic, in the middle of the match, took some time out to have fun with Kyrgios, who was sitting in the commentators’ box.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion walked in front of the broadcast booths while sticking his tongue out towards Kyrgios. Not only that but rather than saying anything, he got back to the match after pulling a cheeky stunt in his way.

While his act made a lighthearted moment in between at a tense quarter-final match. It won’t be wrong to say that the 36-year-old tennis star knows how to make fun of the matches. Djokovic knew what he was doing; even after breathing heavily, he made his way toward the booth, put his head down, created an expression, and got back to his game, laughing.

Both of them started off as rivals when they could play each other in the Wimbledon final. But now the equation has evolved, and even the 28-year-old Australian has talked about including Djokovic in his tennis comeback plans.

Nick Kyrgios’s comeback plan involves Djokovic 

During the Eurosport coverage, the 2022 Wimbledon finalist opened up about how he hasn’t always given his tennis career his 100% but at the same time has bought to do when the world number one retires. He said, “Secretly that’s my tactic, I’m just waiting for Novak to go, then I’ll go into hibernation, get in the best shape of my life, protected ranking. It’s been my plan all along. Leave me alone Novak.” 

While he might have revealed his plan in front of the world, he was also praised by the 24-time Grand Slam champion throughout the tournament, stating that he is only getting better and better and achieving heights on the court. Along with that, he also highlighted how even after getting older, his game is also getting better, and with no major injury, Djokovic might be in his 40s too.
